Will the municipalities in the RDN – Nanaimo, Lantzville, Parksville and Qualicum Beach – be participating in Action for Water?
The municipalities of Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum Beach have provided support in-principle for Action for Water. While these communities have various initiatives of their own for the protection of their water resources, their Councils support the regional service. As well, they have expressed interest in considering partnerships in Action for Water in areas where the service compliments their goals for water resource protection. Residents in Nanaimo, Lantzville, Parksville, and Qualicum Beach will not be voting in this referendum, as this is only a Regional District initiative at this time.
