Are BMI tests always accurate?

0

BMI tests are accurate if you happen to be completely average. If you have too much or too little muscle the numbers will be skewed. For example, I’m obese according to the BMI. If you use my height, weight and age I will come out over 30 for the BMI and yet I have maybe 10-12% body fat. Reason is I’m rather muscular and as muscle weighs more than fat I typically weigh more than an average man of my height and age. Now your butt and boobs are primarily made of fat which means that if they’re large, your BMI will be higher because of them. So yeah, while you might not be obese as you’re carrying a lot of junk in the trunk it’s going bump those numbers up a bit.
