A bleeding hemorrhoid can be detected when the toilet bowl has traces of blood in it. The toilet paper will also have blood on it. This goes to show that the bulging arteries that form hemorrhoids have burst and have started bleeding. Hemorrhoids can bleed both internally and externally. Both types of bleeding are detected at the time of passing stools. The blood sometimes pulls in external hemorrhoids forming a clot which is called a thrombosed hemorrhoid. Causes A bleeding hemorrhoid has many types of causes. Causes range from dietary to hereditary. The main biological cause is that bleeding occurs when the walls and valves of the rectum become weak because of the pressure caused by hard stools the results of constipation. A bad diet that does not have enough fiber that comes from adequate intake of fresh fruit and vegetables causes constipation which in its turn causes bleeding hemorrhoids.
