What I found best when this happened to me was RICE Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. I wrapped my foot with an ice pack and kept it on a chair most of the day. What I found that was really effective was putting your foot in freezing cold water(bearable) for about 2 Min’s then on a hot water bottle for 2 Min’s, Repeat about 4 times every hour or so. It should take at least 4 days to heel and don’t rush out and think I’lll test it, I ran on it too early and had to wait even longer for the injury to heel. Don’t do any stretching as the tendon has probably been over stretched, massaging may help it though. Do you stretch before your run/race as I think this is what caused mine, overstretching and stretching when the muscles haven’t had time to warm up.
