Can I patrol on a snowboard or telemark skis at Squaw Valley?
Squaw Valley requires all patrollers to be advanced level alpine skiers. During training, candidates are expected to use alpine skis. After training is completed, patrollers desiring to use snowboards or tele gear will need to pass a skills evaluation and receive special permission. Alternate gear is usually only allowed in the spring.
