How Do You Perform The Ultimate Trick On Telemark Skis?
If you happen to be in the right place at the right time, this trick just might land you in one of next year’s ski videos. Find a jump that will get you at least 4 feet in the air. This trick requires a few seconds of air time. Ski back from the jump. Get some speed going and hit the jump. Bend your upper body forward the instant you take off. Lock your knees straight and bend at the hips so that your lower body is angled up toward your chest. Reach out with both hands and grab the tips of your skis. Pull back on both skis so that the tips are facing skyward and the tails point to the ground. Hold this position for as long as possible. Release your skis before landing. Your skis will snap back into a horizontal position due to the tension supplied by the telemark bindings. Land your jump and be prepared for the adulation of nearby spectators.
