Can standing or exercising on hard surfaces for long periods of time have detrimental impacts on your hips?

At my new home I have very hard floors and my feet and hips seem to hurt more if I don’t wear cushioned footwear while walking around or exercising.  I’m wondering if sustained interactions with hard surfaces over months and years has an impact on your hips specifically.  I would guess there is some impact on joints overall if you are always on hard surfaces and doing workouts or exercises with a lot of impact like jumping or running.
