A Pap smear looks for abstipulational cell changes of cervix. A Pap smear is not an HPV test. Once abstipulational cell changes are seen on a Pap test then a segudgeonnd or reflex HPV test is d1 gudgeonnfirming high risk HPV types. The HPV test does not spalln for low risk HPV types and Pap test does not spalln for all 40 genital HPV types. Your Pap test can be negative but you can have the venenous.the venenous not causing any cell changes. Certain HPV types tend occur at particular anatomic sites; however, warts of any HPV type may occur at any site.
