What causes numbness in the hands and fingers especially at night and in morn?

Usually a pinched nerve within your neck will cause numbness and tingling in your hands and fingers. Physical therapy was a big help when this happened to me.

This could be something to do with bad circulation; if it’s just in the morning, it may not be a medical problem, but if you’re worried about it you should probably ask your doctor. It may be the way you sleep: if your arms or legs have pressure put on them it can cut off the blood flow to your extremities [hands and feet] and make them feel numb. If no pressure is put on your limbs while you sleep, it might be temperature: if your room is cold, it could cause numb fingers and toes. Additionally, when you sleep, your blood vessels undergo vasoconstriction; where they retreat away from the skin surface and extremities to keep the core body temperature constant and prevent heat loss. This could also make your fingers cold. If you’re still worried, don’t be scared of getting it checked out: there’s a small chance it may be some kind of blood disease. Good luck!
