not sure on groundhogs but i have found to get rid of ground moles is them sun flowers (or others) on a stick you stick in the ground and the wind blow around the vibration chases them off hope this helps  more

OHHHH I feel sorry for you. They are buggers to get rid of, we have tried many... many things. The best thing that we have found is a live trap with lettuce and carrots inside. Once caught we take them miles away and let them free. Or if you are so inclined you could shoot them once caught.  more

you probably have grubs. get rid of them & you will get rid of the groundhogs.  more
