“The Battle for Middle Earth” is a game based off the “Lord of the Rings” books which relies on strategy combat. While most of the maps are pre-made, you have a chance to create your own battle terrain with the map editor. The process will mostly compose of choosing textures and placing points for teams and villages. After the map is finished, you can play against other people online or against the computer with your custom map. Use the “Texture” tool at the top toolbar to set the terrains. Select “Water,” “Mountains” and other terrains to set those on the map. To change the light and shadows, click “Edit” then “Global Light Options” for light and “Edit Shadows” for shadows. Click “Edit” then “Set Player List.” Press the “Add Skirmish Players” and game will add scripts that make the map suitable for multiplayer action, and will import all the game’s character types.
