Open the hood and disconnect the battery by turning the positive terminal bolt in a counterclockwise direction. Set the terminal bolt aside, away from any metal or the battery itself. Gently pry up the rear section of the panel with a screwdriver to disengage the plastic tabs that hold it to the armrest.
