Are your power windows on your Chevy Astro or GMC Safari not working properly? They go up part way and stop, then go up a little, then stop again – right? Starting and stopping is a known problem, but it’s easy to fix! Remove door panel. It’s not that hard, and I have a detailed How To article to help you. See my other articles. Peel back the vapor barrier in the upper right portion of the door panel to expose the window motor. Mark the location of the screws holding the motor in place. You’ll transfer those marks to the new motor. NOTE: You may have rivets instead of screws Unscrew the three mounting screws. Be careful, they are short and may want to fall out! Use a socket wrench or nut driver if the screwdriver doesn’t work for you. Retain the screws. NOTE: If you have rivets, use a 9/64″ to drill the center of the rivet out, then a 1/4″ to 5/16″ drill to cut outer rivet flange if needed. You may have to move the back of the drill in a circular motion to cut rivet flange if it starts
