Germany’s army was an awesome force, but it was made as powerful as it was by the Luftwaffe; and Germany keeping control of the air. Most informed people will say the Soviets did the most to defeat Germany, but I think the addition of American Air Power made it impossible for the German Air Force to hold on. Three major air powers against them, and they were finished. The Soviets did the most to defeat the German army on the ground though. Germany could have been defeated a lot sooner if the allies hadn’t made so many mistakes early on in the war. People talk about Germany’s mistakes, but the allied ones were more much more numerous.
