What is the difference between Combat and Theater LARP?
We define them as follows: Combat Style – Inclusion levels of physical simulated combat using foam swords or nerf guns. A “Heavy” combat level may include some body contact. “Light” is usually viewed as dexterity based combat. Soft packets may be thrown to represent rocks, arrows, darts, or other projectile weaponry or special effect if the game calls for this. Theatre Style – Little or no physically simulated combat; instead, rock-paper-scissors, stat cards, or other methods are used.
