When did secularism devolve into multicultural appeasement?
Secularism in Indian politics (as I have come to understand it),as practised by all political parties (except the BJP) is based on only two main factors.The first ,as rightly analysed and inferred by you,is the multicultural appeasement which,besides going against the grain of secularism,is against all the principles,definition et al of secularism. The second and most important factor,which happens to be the motto, credo or what have you,of all the political outfits,exclusive of BJP,is plain and simple BJP Bashing which was earlier confined to election time strategy,but is now carried to extreme prejudice and hatred of the BJP.By appeasing the so-called minorities,the politicians very conveniently forget that they are in fact worse religious bigots than the clerics and clergy who solely are engaged in propogating their beliefs.
