When do i move my corn snake to larger food?

0

We have 8 snakes, three of which are corns and ours eat like you wouldn’t believe. A good rule of size for food is to feed prey items that are slightly smaller than the width of the fattest part of the snake and no more than one and a half times the width of its head. Give them as many as they will take once a week until they are eating 6-8 then they should be able to go up to 1-2 of the next size up. When the snake is “hunting” instead of settling down to digest its meal after feeding it is still hungry and will need one more added to its food till you are up to 6-8 again and then you go bigger. You will need to feed corns weekly until they get to adult size and then if you can get them to eat small rats or jumbo mice they can be fed fortnightly, this is more beneficial when on larger food because it takes longer to digest and the snake is not constantly processing food, it gives the system a break.
