Where is the Best Lounge in Houston, Texas?
We love this place. Great food – try the curries on Wednesday evenings, a choice from 7 curries and a pint for $16.Every week night finds some special, Steak, Burger, Curry, Meatballs, Fish & Chips, and all top notch food.The beers’s a tiny bit pricey – although you can always drink “lite” beer for next to nothing. Loads of choice, real British Ale and a British Boozer atmosphere to match.The star of the show is George, the surfer barman, if you’re lucky enough to get in while he’s working, he’s incredibly knowledgeable about what’s going on in Houston and elsewhere, and will always point you inthe right direction about what’s on the menu, and more importantly, what’s off the menu – there’s always loads of stuff not listed.Just try it.Pros + Great Food, great beer, and the surfer barman – fantasticCons – A tiny bit pricey but hey, it’s worth it.
This is the place to be on the weekends and even during the week as well. The music is fantastic and it gets better and better as the night progresses….playing the hottest house and hip hop music then throwing out the old school mixes from back in the day. There are 2 dance floors…one that is higher up and lit up like Saturday Night Fever and there are mirrors on the back wall so you can watch yourself and others dance…there is also a lower dance floor that is right in front of the DJ booth that is always filled with a dancing crowd of people. If you are needing to have a party there is a VIP section that can be reserved and is guarded by security so that “unwanted guests” can’t just come into your area and ruin your party. There are sofas along the walls by the bar so that if you are needing a break from dancing…you have a confortable seat. I hit Zimm’s the other night, looking for a nice place to just sit and have a girl’s night out. I wish I could say that I can’t wait to go back, but the truth is that I could go the rest of my life without revisiting Zimm’s and not care. The drinks were good, very strong, but highly overpriced for what they were. Maybe I’m a cheapskate, but $10.00 a cocktail is a bit too much. We ended up having to sit at the bar the whole night, despite the allure of many plush areas that were “reserved” for people who never showed up. The bar staff was distant and seemed more intersted in talking to each other than serving their patrons. The interior itself was gorgeous, and they do have a great patio, but overall, the price and the prissy feeling we got from the place didn’t impress.Pros + Stiff drinks, Beautiful interior, Nice patioCons – , Poor service, Reserved areas???
