Why is my period/mens blood brown?
The brown blood is not really old. It’s definitely not left over from your last period. (Your vagina cleans itself out all month long. Any leftover blood from the previous cycle would be cleared out in the day or two after your period ends.) At the beginning and end of your period, you don’t bleed as heavily as you do in the middle. Because you don’t bleed as fast, the blood spends more time traveling down your vagina. (Like a drip of water running down the shower wall flows slower than a stream of water running down the shower wall.) When blood spends more time in your vagina, it is exposed to oxygen for longer. When blood is exposed to oxygen, it turns brown. (The way that bloodstains turn brown.) So, by the time the blood exists your vagina, it is brown. This is a normal occurrence, and nothing to worry about.
