Why is peru a spanish country?
Peru is Peruvian. They speak Spanish in Peru, but it is not a Spanish country. Most of Central and South America including Mexico (now called Latin America) was colonized by the Spanish, but they have long since lost any direct connnection to Spain. That is why Spanish was retained as the language. Brazil was colonized by Portugal and that is why they speak a form of Portuguese.
