Why Study Criminology as part of a Combined Honours Degree?
If you have an interest in the problem of crime, in questions of justice, social exclusion or human rights then this subject area is for you. Criminology at UEL seeks to examine the crime problem from a number of different disciplinary perspectives. For example, legal responses to crime are studied and placed within their political and cultural context; sociological and psychological explanations for offending are also examined and criticised. As Criminology is interdisciplinary it is well suited to being studied as part of a Combined Honours Programme. In particular, if you wish to combine with Law, Psychology or Sociology you will be able to complement your studies and broaden your expertise without limiting yourself to one specialism or taking on a completely different subject.
