ACCEPT/DECLINE/DEFER ADMISSION WHEN DO I RECEIVE A VISA DOCUMENT AND NOTICE OF ADMISSION?
If your graduate program has not informed the Graduate Admissions Office that you will receive funding, you will be sent an email message. This email informs students that they have been academically admitted; however to finalize admission, it is necessary to send documents proving adequate financial resources to attend The Ohio State university. NOTE: Sometimes these emails are sent by the Graduate Admissions Office before graduate programs conclude their funding decisions. Consequently before sending financial documents, it is advisable to check your funding status with your graduate program. The Graduate Admissions Office will then compare your bank documents, sponsor letter, or university funding against the estimated budget. (http://gradadmissions.osu.edu/IGcosts.htm) to determine whether you have enough funding to pay living expenses and tuition at Ohio State as required by U.S. Law. If your documents pass financial review, the form I-20 or DS-2019 will be issued. If they do not
