No, volume activation is different from the Adobe License Manager program introduced with Acrobat 8 and discontinued shortly thereafter. For example, in Acrobat 8 volume users had to download an e-license within 30 days of starting the application the first time. If users didn’t have access to the Internet or a local License Server, they had to deploy the application with a special exception file to disable ALM. Not the case with volume activation: You don’t have to complete first activation within a fixed time frame. Also, if you don’t have access to the Internet or are behind a sealed firewall, the software continues to run uninterrupted, without displaying messages or alerts.
