After I installed the PAF 4.0.4.18 update, I tried to open the new Users Guide and got the message, “This file does not begin with %PDF.” What happened to my Users Guide?
The latest PAF 4.0.4.18 download contains an empty, “dummy” paf4.pdf file. When you tried to open the Users Guide, the message appeared because the dummy file is not a real PDF file. You need to download the new PAF 4.0 Users Guide from Place it in the same folder where you installed PAF 4 (usually c:\program files\familysearch\paf4).
