After saving a document in the MS Word User Interface, double quotes are replaced by another character when printing the document. What is happening?
MS Word has an option to replace ‘straight quotes’ with ‘smart qoutes’ when saving a document. If this option is enabled the double quotes will not print on the iSeries system because most EBCDIC code pages do not have a symbol representing ‘smart quotes’. To disable this option select the AutoCorrect option from the Tools menu, and deselect the appropriate option on the pages “AutoFormat As You Type” and “AutoFormat”.
