As WindowViewer starts up, it performs a number of initialization tasks. One of them is counting the tags that have been configured. During this step, WindowViewer counts all of the tags that have ever been created in the app, whether they have been subsequently deleted or not. So if you have created a number of tags that were deleted before the application is actually deployed (like test or troubleshooting tags that are no longer needed), they will show up in the count at WindowViewer initialization. For an accurate count of tags that actually exist in the app, open the app in WindowMaker and enable the Show Tag Count option, or run the Special/Update Use Counts function. Both of these methods will show you the number of tags currently existing in the application.
