There is no official or complete index to the Wilmington News-Journal. The Wilmington Library compiles the Newspaper Index, a selective index to the News-Journal and to Delaware Today covering 1988 to present. The index is available on the Internet. Go to the Wilmington Library website, select Library Catalog, then Community Resources. Additionally, the Wilmington Library has a card file, the Delaware Index, which indexes selected articles from the 1880s to 1979. Contact the Wilmington Library. The Library subscribes to the Wilmington News Journal database which covers 1999 to present. It provides text of articles but no pictures, ads, etc. Phone books? Print copies of telephone books from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., New York City, and some foreign cities are shelved in the Reference Room in the first shelving unit, near the general encyclopedias.
