Anyone noticed Transmission has so many references to Jesus and religion in general?
I sure did notice the references to Jesus on the new album. I’ve given this a lot of thought so now’s a good time to speak about it. Take Army Ants: “A walk on the water can lead you to slaughter” An obvious reference to Jesus when he walked on the water then later was murdered on the cross. Just the basic idea that great things can be performed and good can be done but that there is the chance that you can be persecuted for it. “I will rise once again and still shine on” A reference to when Jesus rose from the dead and still shines on in the present time … shines on as a saviour to some of us … Also the idea that Jesus will come again … As it is said in the bible, the second coming of Christ. “Crawl on your hands and knees / Blind from the vision / The dawn of Decision” I think this is reference to Judgement day … basically the whole idea of Armageddon (from the bible), the end of the world. The day when someone will come and destroy all evil on earth and some people will craw
