Are alignment points (benchmarks) required in the .ASC file?
Yes and No. Benchmarks are required in an ASCII file if you need to align this file to an existing job file. For example if the surveyor went out and verified the original ground and you wanted to use his data, benchmarks might be required to align the Sitework file with his data. However, if the Sitework file and the surveyor s ASCII file are in the same coordinate system the files should align correctly when combined.
