Are anesthesiology residents required to have active ACLS certification?

Yes, the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals (MCWAH) requires you to be ACLS certified within 30 days of your start date. If you are unable to get certified at your current institution please use the link below to be certified. Certification or re-certification: Use an online course and choose the “ACLS or PALS” link. The course can be wholly completed online and your ACLS card will arrive within 2-3 days. Although the course costs $175, the Anesthesiology Department will reimburse you. However, you must wait until after the first week of your training to sign up and complete the course, as MCW accounts payable will not reimburse if you take the course prior to the start of your training. To be reimbursed you will need to provide a copy of the receipt that must include your name, method of payment and amount.
