Are cronos and the grim reaper one and the same?
Nope. But the Grim Reaper is somewhat equivalent to Charon, the mythical figure who ferried a boat containing souls through the River Styx. Charon only took those who paid him into the afterlife, and those who didn’t pay (with coins usually placed on the eyes or in the mouth) ended up having their souls wander around without a place to go.
