Are Current Risk Management Strategies within the Commercial Shipping Industry Adequate?
Commercial shipping is a high-risk industry and as such should be actively engaged in the management of risk in order to reduce the number of incidents which both threaten the safety of seafarers and the protection of the environment. The high number of incidents within the commercial shipping industry raises the question of the adequacy of current risk management strategies within the industry.
