At the moment, Eurocodes are not still mandatory. In fact, they won’t be for sure mandatory until finishing the period of co-existence with the applicable National provisions. The end date of this period depends on each country but in general it will be after mid 2010. During this co-existence period, the National authorities should accept the use of the Eurocodes and before the end of this period, the National Provisions are encouraged to be adapted so that they are not in conflict with the Eurocodes.
