are flexible pvc sink drain fittings code?
the replacement kitchen sink I installed was substantially deeper and the drain opening in the sink was offset to the original …. which didn’t allow me to merely reuse the same tailpieces & P bend trap and other PVC tubes & fittings that had connected the original sink to the 2″ Sch 40 PVC tee & pipe that was buried in the wall studs. Rather cutting into the wall to lower the 2″ tee so to accomdate the deeper sink… and then being able to use the standard tailpipe & P bend trap parts, I used ‘flexible’/adjustable 1 1/2″ pvc tailpiece & P bend trap and double slip couplings to connect the sink. I will be selling the house in the next year and want to confirm prior to placing it on the market whether using these flexible pvc connectors between the sink and the 2″ sch 40 pvc is not prohibited by the plumbing code.
