Are full time college students exempt from Jury Duty?

Being a student doesn’t exempt you from civic duty. You can, however, use it as a request to defer your summons. You can defer it to a time when school is on break (the summer or winter vacations, for example), or you can defer it to just “later” and then defer it again if you’re still a student when you get resummoned. My brother did this last year. He received a summons in February, and deferred it until the summer. If you can’t find the place on the summons where you’d request deferrence, you should call the court house to ask for instructions. Sources: http://www.scd.uscourts.gov/Jury/FAQ.
