Yes. Fourth – sixth grade students can be identified GATE based upon STAR test scores (Advanced on English/Language Arts and Math CST), Ravens Progressive Matrices (98%) and a portfolio of student work. Identified GATE students will be placed in clusters in fourth – sixth grade classrooms. Teachers have attended professional development activities focusing on the latest brain research information and are also differentiating the curriculum to meet the needs of their GATE and Advancing Learner students.
