Are housing assignments first-come, first-served or assigned randomly?
Incoming freshmen who submit their housing materials on time are assigned housing by a random sort process. Students who submit their materials after their deadline will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis into the remaining spaces. On-campus housing is guaranteed for freshmen and sophomores, and students are required to live in the residence halls for their first two years unless granted a commuter exemption. Upperclassmen can choose between university and privately owned housing. Are there any specialty housing options I can request? Yes. We offer two specialty housing options: Vacation housing: This option is offered to accommodate those students who do not plan to leave during the Thanksgiving and spring breaks.
