Are Jamaica wedding recognized in Texas?
Yes, they are. Weddings in Jamaica are legal in the USA & Canada. You can arrange through any hotel. The wedding coordinator will apply for the marriage license for you. It will be waiting when you get to the Island. You can’t a license in the USA, it has to come from Jamaica. You just send certified copies of your passports, birth certificates, and your fathers names & date/place of birth. It is extremely easy. The hotel will handle everything. As far as the documentation it took us all of 20 minutes to put together, and fax it. Make sure you go through a hotels wedding planner. Sandals is great, but all hotels do this. After the wedding you get a copy of the marriage certificate. The certified and registered certificate comes after afew months. When you get married in Jamaica, it gets registered at the US embassy. There’s no need to register it yourself. It has already been registered by the time you get it. My daughter got married this past New Years Eve in Montego Bay, and it is 10
