Are King Prawns unhealthy?

They’re actually very good for you, being low in saturated fat and the like. According to some of the sites I’ve read, they contain some amount of “pre-made” cholesterol, but our bodies break that down before it gets to our blood. There are a handful of people who are sensitive to this kind of cholesterol, and you should probably ask your doctor if you suspect you’re one of these people. Of course, if you’re battering or deep frying them or adding them to creamy sauces, you’re asking for trouble. Mercury is another concern where fish are concerned. Prawns, like other shellfish, contain lower levels of mercury than other kinds of fish. Finally, fish are pretty sensitive to the waters that they live in, so make sure they’re from good, fresh areas that aren’t contaminated! I hate to digress, but this goes with ALL meat. Only eat healthy animals!
