Are Maltese a good pet for a family with young children?
The Maltese are not an ideal dog for families with small children, not for the children’s sake, but for the dog’s sake to be honest. These dogs are very patient, and while sturdy for their small stature, these are still fragile little dogs weighing in at under seven pounds at maturity. While it’s hard to put an age limit (as each child is unique), I tend to try and place my babies with families with children over the age of 6 years old.
