Oh, my goodness NO we’re not like Chef Ramsey! That’s called acting- it’s what makes the show interesting to watch, and gets viewers to tune in, and watch the sponsor’s commercials! I am a chef for 10 years- and I admit we can be grumpy. People outside this career path I don’t think realize- that it’s not like Martha Stewart back there, with a bunch of fat happy cooks playing with food for the sheer joy of it. It’s HARD, VERY HARD work- on your feet, all day, sometimes 60 hrs a week, ON YOUR FEET, on concrete flooring, where you don’t ever seem to sit down, and are in a constant state of HURRY HURRY HURRY! It’s an extremely stressful, backbreaking, highly competitive career to be a chef- and it’s NOT for the faint of heart. Most of us have 2cnd and sometimes 3rd degree burns, severe cuts, back problems, carpal tunnel or lumbar issues, the job KILLS our bodies- especially women.
