Are pets allowed aboard the Santa Cruz, Big Trees & Pacific Railway?

Dogs are permitted aboard the train, however it is at the discretion of the conductor of whether or not the dog will need to wear a muzzle. Muzzles are available to borrow at no charge at the Roaring Camp Ticket Office. Animals needed to assist guests (such as guide dogs) are welcome at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Other pets, however, are not allowed on the Boardwalk or at the Santa Cruz city main beach. A doggie beach is available next to the Lighthouse on West Cliff Drive (hours are restricted) and there are several boarding/kennel facilities within the Santa Cruz area.
