Are property owners legally obliged to allow an assessor on their property?

0

Under the Assessment Act, the assessor has the legal right to inspect a property. The Act also says that any person at the property must give the assessor information about the property, if asked. Assessors will not insist on inspecting a property if the owner objects, but they will still have to set an assessed value. It’s in the owner’s best interest to allow an inspection so that the assessor has an opportunity to set a fair assessment right from the start.
