But cold bloodedness used to describe them is misleading, leaving one to believe that their blood is always cold. The term herpetologists (a person who studies reptiles & amphibians) use is poikilothermal. which means as descibed above that their body temperatures changes with their surroundings. Their body will feel cold if the ambient temperature is cold and warm if the ambient tempertature is warm.
