It has less to do with the breed and more to do with the temperament of the parents – along with how you raise and train the pup. First things first, NEVER leave your son alone with the dog. NOT EVEN FOR ONE MINUTE! Even the best dog can be unpredictable around small children. Next, find out about puppy socialization and training classes. Ask your vet for referrals or check out your local big box pet store (some offer in-house training classes). You and the puppy should take the classes; the pup will soon learn who’s boss and you’ll learn effective methods of discipline. Finally, be sure and have the dog altered as soon as possible. A neutered dog is less likely to be aggressive, plus you won’t have to deal with finding homes for a bunch of puppies. Everybody wins!
