Are short cycles a problem when ttc?

It doesn’t have to do with the length of the whole cycle, but the Luteal phase (from Ovulation to your period beginning) should be at least 10 days long. If it is short, it could hinder a fertilized egg from implanting before a period begins. I just started charting my BBT and have used OPK’s for a bit. Try either to help understand when you ovulate, so you can know how long your luteal phase is. It is generally 12-14 days, but like I said, anything under 10 could be a problem. Baby dust and best wishes! EDIT – also too when TTC, if you have a short cycle, day 24 days, and have a 14 day luteal cycle, then you would ovulation around CD9 or CD10, so if you were trying just half way through your cycle (say day 12) that would mean that you missed the fertile window, causing delays in succeeding.
