Are the examples in the Implementation Guides accurate?

There is a substantial number of incomplete or incorrect examples in the Implementation Guides. The guide authors know this and they will be revising the examples for the next version of the guides. In addition to the Addenda being worked on by X12N, Errata Sheets are also being developed to correct errors. In the meantime, take the examples with a grain of salt. Some of the examples could even be syntactically incorrect, as the guides have evolved through several versions and the examples have not necessarily been fixed.
