Hotels part of large business chains (like the Mariott, Hilton, etc) definitely remain open during Christmas and New Year to accommodate visitors who travel to different places during the holidays. Smaller, Mom-and-Pop type places are more subject to closure during the holidays so it’s a good idea to call in advance to ask. Motels are typically open during this time.
