Are the symptoms the same between ovarian, uterine, cervical, and vaginal cancers?
FD: No. With vaginal and cervical cancers the chances are very high in finding it early because of the Pap test which is part of every woman’s basic health care. KG: My gynecologist takes blood for the CA 125 test to check for ovarian cancer, however many doctors do not. Why? FD: You have a good doctor, and he is being very thorough. Women have to do the following: a) we need to know what to ask for, and b) we need to demand what we want. Unfortunately we may have to pay for it. I tell all women to save their Christmas club accounts for tests that their health insurance may not pay for, because the best gift you can gift your family is a long and healthy life. I do encourage everyone to get the CA125 blood test.
