The “Building on Our Strengths for the Future” report does emphasize that OHIP does not compensate physicians adequately for the time required for palliative care, and this prevents many from providing palliative services. Also, a Hospice Palliative Care Fact Sheet from the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association tells us that Canada has in total only 200 part-time and full time palliative care physicians, which points to more inadequacy.
